These terms cover your use of Kristy Approved. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. Please read them — the sections on nutrition guidance and liability matter.
Kristy Approved is a grocery-coaching app. It reads packaged food labels by barcode or photo and gives a graded verdict on the ingredients; it answers questions about the parts of the store that have no barcode — the butcher, the fish counter, produce, dairy, and bulk — from a sourced knowledge base; and it helps you build and keep a shopping list.
A free tier is available. A paid membership adds personalized verdict notes, a cart shaped around your goals and constraints, a read on your haul, and conversational cart edits.
There is no password. You sign in to the Kristy iPhone app with Sign in with Apple, and that is the only way to sign in. Keep your Apple ID secure — anyone who can use it can reach your account. You can withdraw the app's access in Settings → your name → Sign in with Apple; that signs you out and deletes nothing.
Kristy does not collect phone numbers and does not send SMS messages. There is no text-message sign-in on any platform. An earlier version of these terms described one for the website; it was retired before anyone used it.
You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us at hello@kristyapproved.com if you believe someone else has access.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Kristy Approved.
Kristy provides general grocery and nutrition guidance generated by software. It is not advice from a licensed dietitian, physician, or other healthcare professional, and nothing Kristy says should be treated as medical or clinical advice. Kristy does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition. Always consult a qualified professional for medical or dietary decisions, particularly if you are pregnant, have a health condition, take medication, or have a history of disordered eating.
Ingredient and product information comes from public databases, from reading product labels by photo, and from our own knowledge base. It can be incomplete, out of date, or wrong. Manufacturers reformulate products without notice, and a photographed label may be misread.
If you have a food allergy or intolerance, always read the physical label on the product. Do not rely on Kristy Approved for allergen safety. Any dietary filter the app offers is a convenience, not a guarantee.
You are solely responsible for the choices you make about your diet and health. Kristy is a tool to inform those choices — the decisions, and their outcomes, are yours. Use your own judgment.
Use Kristy Approved for its intended purpose. You agree not to:
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, abuse the service, or place excessive load on it — with or without notice.
Paid memberships are billed in advance, monthly or annually, and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the period you have paid for. Web payments are processed by Stripe. Purchases made on iOS are processed by Apple and are also governed by Apple's terms — cancel those through your Apple ID settings. Where a free trial is offered, it converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled before it ends.
The knowledge bases, Kristy's writing and voice, the brand, and the software are ours and are protected by intellectual property law. Using the service does not give you a licence to its content.
You keep ownership of what you enter. You grant us the licence needed to operate the service for you. You also agree that we may use anonymous, aggregated information — which cannot identify you — to improve the service, as described in the Privacy Policy.
Kristy Approved is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Features may change, break, or be removed, and the service may be unavailable at times. We do not guarantee that the information Kristy provides is accurate, complete, or suitable for your circumstances.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kristy Approved and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or health outcomes, arising out of or related to your use of — or inability to use — the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time from Settings. Deletion is immediate and permanent.
We may update these terms as Kristy Approved evolves. If we make material changes, we will update this page and the date above. Continuing to use the service after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
