Kristy Approved is a grocery coach. It reads packaged labels, answers questions about the counters that have no barcode (meat, fish, produce, dairy, bulk) and helps you build a list. If something is not working, or you want your data gone, this page is how to reach a person.
Getting help
Email hello@kristyapproved.com. A person reads every message, and we aim to reply within two business days.
It helps to include what device you are on, what you tapped, and what happened instead. A screenshot is worth a paragraph. If a barcode scanned wrong, send the numbers under the barcode; that is enough to look the product up.
Deleting your account and everything on it
In the app: Haul → the gear icon → Delete account. You will be asked to type a confirmation word first, so it cannot happen by mistake.
It is a real delete, not a deactivation. Your account and the data attached to it (your list, your trip history, your preferences and your saved reads) are removed from our servers, and the copy held on your phone is cleared at the same time. It cannot be undone, and we cannot restore it afterwards.
If you cannot reach the screen for any reason, email us from the address on the account and we will do it for you.
Using Kristy without an account
Most of the app works signed out, and that is deliberate. Scanning, asking the counter a question, browsing the sourced answers and building a list all work without an account, and none of it is stored against your name because there is no name to store it against.
Common questions
A product scanned and Kristy had nothing to say
That means the barcode resolved but nothing on the label matched a knowledge-base entry. Kristy only speaks when there is something sourced to say, and silence is the honest answer rather than filler. If you think an ingredient should have been flagged, email the barcode.
A barcode would not read at all
Some packages are genuinely unreadable: curved foil, glare, tiny print. Use the label photo instead: it reads the ingredients list directly and does not need a barcode.
Kristy put something non-food on my list
That is intended. The list carries whatever you are buying; Kristy simply has nothing to say about the things that are not food, so those rows sit there without a comment.
Why is there no calorie or macro tracking?
Because Kristy is not a tracker, and adding one would change what the app is for. It is about what is in the food, not about counting it.
Reporting something wrong in an answer
This is the most useful email you can send. Every health or ingredient claim in the app traces back to a sourced entry, so “this is wrong” is something we can check and correct at the source. Tell us the product or the question, and what you believe the right answer is.
